Financial Remedy Orders Explained

Financial Remedy Orders Explained

Many people think that Divorce automatically resolves claims for matrimonial finances. In this video blog Rosanna Hounslow, the Deputy Head of the Family Department, will explain how this is not the case and how you can go about resolving your matrimonial finance claims.

Rosanna will set out what Orders the Court can actually make so that you know what you can and cannot claim for. She will explain that you do not always have to go to Court or have a Court hearing to resolve these issues and sets out other options available to reach a resolution. Rosanna will also explain about when you should have a Court Order, including if you each are keeping what you already have.

Some people want to separate but resolve their finances first and then divorce later. Rosanna will explain what you can and cannot do in those circumstances. She will also explain what happens if you cannot reach an agreement and you have to go to Court.
