OUR RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK
Business as usual
Following government requirements, we have now closed our two offices, save for the purposes of Will signing. However, we continue to operate a full system on a remote basis and are able to offer the same superior level of service to our clients both new and existing.
Over the past couple of years, we have worked hard to establish a structure at Watson Thomas which is sustainable and which does not rely on our team being office based.
This pandemic has offered us the chance to test these structures and as a result, our whole Team is now working remotely. Save for not being able to physically come to the office, we are confident that you will not notice the difference in the level of service provided.
Existing Clients
If you are an existing client, please be assured that we are offering a full service. We will be contactable on the normal office numbers during our core office hours. We are also available on email.
We can talk to you either on the telephone or via video conferencing.
As we work on a paperless basis, we have all of your information easily accessible to us.
A member of staff attends our offices each day to collect post and any documents you have dropped through the letter boxes. They will then be scanned and emailed to the appropriate member of the team.
New Clients
We are still welcoming all new enquires throughout our areas of work. We continue to offer free initial appointments by way of telephone or skype and we will progress all new instructions in the normal way.
Wills and LPAs
As is expected in these circumstances, we have experienced an increase in instructions for Wills and LPAs.
We are able to offer our clients peace of mind, by providing a remote and efficient service for Wills.
We can take your instructions either over the telephone or by using Skype or any other video conferencing system to suit you.
If you are not in isolation, we can see you in the office for the purposes of Will signing. If you are in isolation or vulnerable, then we can attend your home and offer a remote will signing service. This means that two members of our team will come to your home and witness you signing your Wills through a window whilst speaking to you on the telephone.
If you do attend the office to sign your Wills then our team are taking all necessary hygiene precautions, including washing our hands before and after seeing you. We are also disinfecting all hard surfaces before and after each client We are also not offering to shake hands, again, in accordance with government guidelines.
Mediation
We continue to offer a mediation service for children disputes and finances. This takes place on a remote basis using video conferencing and is extremely effective for resolving any interim disputes which have arisen between parents during this difficult time.
Court Proceedings and Arbitration
Court proceedings continue on a virtual basis. If your hearing is adjourned, then we will seek to arrange a private hearing in the place of the Court hearing.
